7 iDP Sam Hill Knee Pad

Designed with valuable feedback from the legend himself, the new Sam Hill signature knee pad builds off of our popular Transition knee pad to be the ultimate lightweight knee pad for trail riding to Enduro racing. Light enough to be worn all day long. The Sam Hill knee pads mould with body heat to provide maximum comfort with a breathable mesh back panel to wick moisture away from the skin.

  • Material: Textile, Synthetic
  • Without compromising safety, passing the relevant CE test the Sam Hill pads offer comfortable protection in a super light package. Similar to our best selling Transition Knee pad but with added side protection and longer pad coverage.
  • Designed to keep weight down the compression fit, slip on design fits higher on the thigh than most pads. An internal silicone strip keeps the pads from slipping down.
  • Running the length of the pad in the rear and extending across the lower front a breathable 4-way stretch mesh maintains airflow for all day comfort.
  • Tested beyond CE/ EN 1621/1

Comfortable, and good protection

"Comfortable, and good protection"

Justin N. (5/5)

Very comfortable fit, and 7iDP

"Very comfortable fit, and 7iDP customer service were great to talk to. They stayed put for a ride, no movement at all, and really feel like an extension of the leg. They do get warm, but they breath reasonably well. The side padding is just foam and doesn't seem to harden on impact. I was between sizes and went down, leaves marks on the skin for a short while after taking off and feels like the right decision. One criticism is that the knee pad needs to be flattened by hand prior to putting on, and I can feel a little knee rub from the opening for the pad - but only if I don't square up and flatten the pad first."

Amazing

"Love them! Nice protection. They fit well and are nice quality. Would recommend them!"

Comfortable Full Coverage

"I was a little worried about the overall length, but it's really the sleeve that's long more than the pad. The padding is stiff, but once it's on and you start moving it gets more flexible. Very comfortable to pedal, particularly given how much protection they offer."

Great sleeve compression fit and

"Great sleeve compression fit and protection. Extends below knee to offer some upper shin coverage. Crash tested multiple times - pads stay in place and the main knee fabric didn't rip. This is my second set and I had to finally retire my previous pair after 3 years of hard use. Would definitely recommend"

Great Pads!

"I've owned so many different knee pads over the years- Roach, Race Face, 661, Troy Lee, etc. and the 7IDP Sam Hill are by far the best. I had to replace my Troy Lee Rail pads as the elastic stretched too much over 1 season. I was surprised at how much better the 7IDP fit and just bought another pair. Be warned, however, that the stretch fabric of the sleeve is very thin and fragile, similar to the Troy Lee's. Easy to tear during installation or removal, and the pins of your flats will inevitably tear holes in the back, especially if you ever need to walk a section. Great pad though!!"

Incredibly comfortable

"Great knee pads. Incredibly comfortable and stay in play. Plus very easy to pedal in."

Eric W. (5/5)

Stay put!

"Previous knee pads slid down my legs. These don't move at all and once they are warmed up they are quite soft and comfortable."

Best knee pads

"I heard great things about these knee pads online and decided to take a chance on them. So happy I did. You forget you’re wearing them they fit so well. You have a dense rubbery material that is like d30, and then the outside of the pads are a foamy material. Perfect for trail rides, and I do some easy downhills with them. Can’t recommend enough if you want a medium duty knee pad. They fit to size as well."

Q&A

Are there two kneepads or just one
A set of 2 pads
Looking for shin protection also . The first ride out on my flats (and the blood) showed me I needed shin protection. Do these go far enough down ?
Great question. The vast majority of knee guards on the market go down to the mid-shin. The 7 iDP Sam Hill Knee Pads are a great choice for knee and mid-shin protection - especially if you're like the famed mtb rider Sam Hill and use flat pedals.
Is wearing these knee pads helpful for relieving knee pain while hiking or walking, or is it just for biking?
My opinion would be no, not really. There would be better options for that. This is more for protection, specifically while biking.
