Description

The Assegai tire is designed primarily for downhill racing and aggressive trail riding in mixed conditions. The knob height falls between the Minion DHR II and the Shorty. Like the Minion tires, the center knobs are heavily ramped on the leading edge to reduce rolling resistance. A small knob located between the center tread and side knobs provides a smooth transition while cornering. The Assegai offers predictable traction, even over slippery roots and rocks.

  • World Cup Champion Greg Minnaar's signature tire
  • Recommended for trail, enduro and downhill conditions
  • Intended for Front installation
  • EXO casing provides protection on sidewalls for extreme cut and abrasion resistance while remaining lightweight and highly flexible
  • Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tire’s tread layout and profile on today’s modern, wider rims, optimized around a 35mm inner width

Good Choice

"Recently, been experimenting with an Assegai upfront. For many years I always ran a DHR rear and DHF front. On my downhill bike I like the slightly rounder profile of the Assegai. Not sure if there is science to support my opinion, but it feels like the rounder profile tracks better in the sharp edged rock gardens commonly found around my riding areas."
